Registered Nurse I Qualified Nutritionist

Meet Lisa
For as long as I can remember I have always had a passion for helping others. From my career in childcare to nursing and now nutrition, I have always wanted to make a positive impact in people’s live.
My own health journey started in 2013 after returning home from living in Italy for the year, after eating too much pasta and gelato. After participating in a nutrition program, I found that just by making small, simple changes to what I was eating, could have a huge impact on my overall health.
During my years working as a Registered Nurse on a Cardiac Ward, I naturally started to talk about food, and learnt that most of the risk factors for heart disease can be modified by having a healthy lifestyle. I found that most people were not aware of the power nutrition can play in their health, let alone disease prevention. This is where my passion for changing careers and studying the Masters of Human Nutrition began. I have an invested interest in using food as medicine and am an advocate for this daily.
I have a curious mind for research about nutrition and disease and want to help you understand the relationship between healthy eating and disease prevention. I combine my unique experience as a Nurse and Nutritionist with a holistic approach to health, by helping support you to create a balanced lifestyle, healing from the inside out, through affordable education sessions and personalised 1:1 coaching.
I want to empower you to build a healthy relationship, with food, lifestyle changes and supplements so you can ditch diets, manage your weight, sleep better, have more energy, improved digestion, and find freedom in all foods.
Why Nutrition
It can help with

Immunity
There is more gut cells in our body than blood cells and these are at the forefront of our immune system and mood. We need to nurture this and repair our gut lining which is damaged from highly processed, high refined sugar and carb foods and stress. To enable the nutrients we eat to be absorbed and utilised correctly, our gut lining needs to be restored using food as medicine to help you with your digestion, energy, mood and sleep.
Nutritional deficiencies
Many people don’t actually consume enough food and are unaware of how much food to include in their day. Rectifying this allows for adequate nutrient intake, increased energy levels, better sleep, clearer thinking, improved digestion and better weight management.
Digestion
Eating enough fibre helps to regulate bowel motions, increases feeling of fullness, balances blood sugar levels, reduce cholesterol and provides beneficial bacteria to the gut to help keep our body healthy. This prevents toxic sludge from building up in the bowel, as well as balancing our hormones with regular daily poops.

Weight Management
‘Let food be thy medicine’! We eat 3-5 times a day and our cells replicate what we are eating. Feed it fast food, that’s what will grow. Feed it fresh fruit and veggies and it will flourish. Incorporating protein rich meals will help with satiety (the feeling of fullness) and manage those cheeky hunger hormones.
Detoxification
What goes in must come out. Our liver, lungs, kidney, intestines and skin are our detoxifying organs and our liver goes into overdrive from years, decades even, of consuming all the artificial colours, flavours, sweeteners, preservatives, processed and pesticides in our food. To assist our liver with its natural function of detoxifying, we can include certain foods and supplements to assist in this process to help you start to feel amazing again and battle weight issues. Ever thought ‘well I could eat everything in my 20’s but in my 30+ nothing works?’ Your body needs a reset!
